All 20 departmental directors of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology resigned Monday in protest of the contract extension of school president Robert Laughlin.

They tendered their resignations after the school rejected their demand not to renew his contract.

Last week, three out of the school's four senior directors and several vice directors also stepped down in protest of Laughlin's retention.

The professors say Laughlin lacks leadership and vision, and that his arbitrary undertakings and mistrust and belittlement of the country, the school and faculty make him an unfit president.
