Stronger Quake, Tsunami Watch Planned

The country's weather authority will enhance its monitoring of earthquakes and tsunamis.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said Wednesday that it will set up the nation's first undersea seismograph south of Ulleung Island and also raise the number of designated sites for earthquake monitoring from ten to 24.

Japan's earthquake authorities will also monitor 22 spots in South Korea for seismic activity instead of the previous eight.
