China Denies Bid for 2018 World Cup

The Chinese Football Association has denied a Hong Kong report that it will bid for the 2018 World Cup.
The daily Mingpao on Thursday said that as the host of the 2008 Summer Olympics, China will submit a bid for the 2018 World Cup to soccer's world governing body FIFA.
FIFA said Latin America will host the 2014 World Cup and Oceania the 2018 tournament.
Though Australia has announced its bid for the 2018 event, its entry into the Asian Soccer Federation could disqualify the island country as an Oceanic member.
Mingpao said China believes other nations in Oceania will find it hard to host the World Cup.
