Launch of Satellite Arirang II Due in July

The nation in July will launch the multi-purpose satellite Arirang II in Russia.

The Korea Aerospace Research Institute said Wednesday that it is conducting a final checkup for the launch in Plesetsk, some 200 kilometers northeast of Moscow, adding the launcher "Rockot" is in the final stage of assembly.

The Arirang II can photograph and send high-definition images from space and provide useful data for setting up a geographical information system and for observing forest and marine resources.
