The national baseball team has arrived in the United States to play in the quarterfinals of the inaugural World Baseball Classic.

The team on Tuesday left Japan on a chartered flight and arrived in Phoenix, Arizona.

Infielders Kim Dong-joo, who suffered an injury in the win over Taiwan, and Chung Sung-hoon also joined the team.

Practice will start Wednesday ahead of an exhibition game with the U.S. pro team Kansas City Royals Friday and another with the San Diego Padres Saturday.
