The national baseball team has advanced to the quarterfinals of the inaugural World Baseball Classic with a 10-1 pounding of China.

In the Tokyo Dome Saturday, slugger Lee Seung-yeop hit two homers and drove in five runs as South Korea unleashed 18 hits against the hapless Chinese.

From March 12th, South Korea will play North and Central American teams in the tournament's final round in the United States.

Japan, meanwhile, routed Taiwan, 14-3, to secure its ticket to the final round.
