A U.S. baseball weekly has selected slugger Lee Seung-yeop as one of the top five players in the World Baseball Classic unknown to American fans.

Baseball America in its online edition Friday named Lee, Nobuhiko Matsunaka, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Yuliesky Gourriel and Pedro Luis Lazo as the five.

Now playing in Japan, Lee in 2003 set the Asia home run record with 56 for South Korea's pro team Samsung Lions.
