Microsoft will donate 50,000 dollars in research funds to the Graduate School of Information of Yonsei University in Seoul.

The company on Friday said it chose Yonsei after reviewing its plan for lectures on the use and protection of personal information that the school submitted in October.

From last year, Microsoft has selected and sponsored ten universities around the world for the introduction of academic courses on the use and protection of information.

This year, the company has selected 14 universities in the United States, Russia, Belgium and South Korea, with Yonsei the first Asian university to receive the funds.
