World Cup Soccer Trophy to Arrive Monday

The trophy for the winner of the World Cup soccer finals will make its national debut Monday.

Coca-Cola Korea said Thursday that the trophy will be shown to a media conference in a Seoul hotel, with Korea Football Association President Chung Mong-joon, national coach Dick Advocaat and his assistant Hong Myung-bo attending.

Though South Korea co-hosted the 2002 World Cup with Japan, the trophy was displayed in Tokyo because the final game was held there.

Soccer's world governing body FIFA last year agreed with Coca-Cola to conduct the trophy's first global tour of 31 cities in 28 countries over three months.

Beginning in Ghana on January 7th, the tour will end in Germany, the host of this year's World Cup.
