An online soccer news site says Manchester United player Park Ji-sung has silenced critics who said he was signed as a marketing tool rather than for his ability.

Footballasia.com on Tuesday said Park so far has proven to be pretty good and valuable, though not great or a regular starter.

Though Park has only one Premiership goal this season, the site's Asia editor John Duerden said better things are expected of him given his praise from teammates at United and his former team PSV Eindhoven of the Netherlands.

Duerden said Park's determination has helped him to adapt to the rougher style of English soccer, though he still loses the ball too easily and is often knocked down.
