Last Year's Temperatures Close to Avg.

The nation's temperature last year was close to the annual average.

Quoting the Met Office of the United Kingdom, the Korea Meteorological Administration said Friday that temperatures last year rose just 0.1 degrees Celsius from an average year.

Seasonal temperatures, however, saw wide fluctuations as June last year was the hottest month in 33 years. In December last year, the mercury was also 3.5 degrees lower than average.

Meanwhile, average temperatures worldwide last year were 0.49 degrees higher than average, the second-highest rise since the mid-19th century. Global temperatures hit an all-time recorded high in 1998.
