In a Monday article, the paper said the half-Korean, half-African American has emerged as an unlikely hero despite barely living in South Korea and speaking little of the language.

The paper said the story of his impressive achievements and the dedication of his Korean mother have touched many hearts, and sparked a media campaign to end discrimination against biracial Koreans.
