Nation Wins 1st Speed Skating Medal Since '92

Male speed skater Lee Kang-seok has captured the nation's first medal in the sport in 14 years at the Torino Winter Olympics.

Lee on Tuesday won the bronze with a time of 70.43 seconds in the first and second rounds. Joey Cheek of the United States took the gold at 69.76 seconds and Dimitry Dorofeyev of Russia the silver with 70.41 seconds.

The last time South Korea won a medal in speed skating was in the 1992 Albertville Olympics, where Kim Yoon-man won a silver in the men's 1,000 meters.
