The Korean Broadcasting Commission will promote the excellence of a locally developed mobile TV service at an exhibition in New Delhi, India Thursday.

Over the next three days, the commission will stage public demonstrations of terrestrial and satellite digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) technology that can be enjoyed on mobile phones and laptops.

The broadcasting body will also hold conferences and investment fairs on the technology as part of efforts to advance into the Indian market.

Organizers say India’s largest conglomerate, Tata Group, had expressed interest in the South Korean technology, adding that the DMB services are likely to have a positive effect on India’s plan to adopt mobile broadcasting technologies in August.

The commission will also hold policy consultations with its Indian counterpart and sign memorandums of understanding on boosting cooperation in the broadcasting field.

DMB enables users on the go to watch TV programs with high-quality audio and video.
