IOC Hails Joint Inter-Korean Olympic March

International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge has welcomed the planned joint march of athletes from the two Koreas at the Torino Winter Olympics this month.

Calling the joint march a significant and symbolic gesture, he said Wednesday that the two Koreas will march together in the opening and closing ceremonies as they did in 2000 in Sydney and in 2004 in Athens.

Rogge also said the IOC and the Olympic committees of the two Koreas are also discussing a unified Korean team in future tournaments.
