A team of government and civic researchers will carry on stem cell research in the wake of the fraud scandal of Hwang Woo-suk.

In its inaugural meeting Friday, the team of some 20 staff including officials from the science and health ministries discussed drafting a comprehensive draft plan for stem cell study by May.

They also examined research trends at home and abroad and the direction of basic studies from clinical tests to commercialization.
