Striker Shin Young-rok has won the Most Valuable Player award at the men's under-19 world soccer championships in Qatar.

Despite his team's loss to Japan in the final in a 4-3 penalty shootout, Shin led the tournament with five goals.

In last year's final, South Korea beat Japan, 3-0.

Shin plays for the Suwon Samsung Bluewings of South Korea's K-League.
