Seoul will host in October the 88th meeting of the Committee for Scientific and Technological Policy under the Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation (OECD).

Government officials from 30 nations involved in the field of science and technology as well as around 80 experts from OECD member countries will attend the two-day meeting that opens on October 26th.

The meeting's discussion agenda will likely include the compiling of data on public research, fostering of highly skilled talent, and the establishing of a database for human gene research and an international biological resources center.

The Ministry of Science and Technology said Tuesday that Seoul plans to use the October meeting to actively publicize the need to set up international bioethics standards.
