The national soccer team won its first game of the year Wednesday by downing Finland, 1-0, in Saudi Arabia.

In the four-nation LG Cup invitational tournament, young dynamo Park Chu-young scored on a curving free kick in the 47th minute.

South Korea was clearly the better team as it spent most of the game pressuring Finland's goal.

South Korea won the tournament with a win, a loss and a tie, claiming a prize of 50,000 dollars.

The team will head to Hong Kong Sunday to take part in another four-nation competition.
