Former national soccer coach Guus Hiddink is apparently interested in taking over England's team after this year's World Cup.

British media reports on Tuesday quoted Hiddink's close friend of 30 years as saying Hiddink would love to live and coach in England.

Sven-Goran Eriksson, the first foreigner to coach the English team, has announced he will resign after the World Cup.

The British press have also almost unanimously touted the Dutchman as the best candidate for the job given his experience and achievements, though England's Football Association is seeking to hire a national.

Hiddink's agent said his client wishes to focus on coaching PSV Eindhoven and Australia, though he will consider an offer should he get one.
