Slugger Lee Seung-yeop has officially joined Japan's most popular baseball team, the Yomiuri Giants.

The 29-year-old player signed Thursday at the Tokyo Dome Hotel a one-year contract and took part in his entry ceremony and news conference.

Lee will earn a base salary of 160 million yen and a signing bonus of 50 million yen, but could earn more based on his performance.

In his news conference, Lee said he is excited to join a team he has liked since childhood and expressed his intent to win the first baseman job.
