Slugger Lee Seung-yeop left for Japan Thursday to sign with Japan's premier baseball team, the Yomiuri Giants.

Lee said before his departure that his one-year deal is worth 210 million yen and that he will officially join the team at the Yomiuri headquarters in the afternoon.

After taking a physical Friday, he will briefly return to Seoul before leaving for Miyazaki on January 31st for spring training.
