Slugger Lee Seung-yeop has agreed to join Japan's premier baseball team, the Yomiuri Giants.

His agent J's Entertainment on Wednesday said Lee will fly to Tokyo Thursday to sign the contract with Yomiuri in becoming the fifth South Korean to put on a Giants uniform.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

His signing will fill Yoimiuri's void at leadoff hitter given the departure of star Kiyohara Kazhiro to the Orix Bluewave, with Lee to also compete for first base or outfielder.

Last season, Lee helped the Lotte Chiba Marines win the Japan Series and led the team with 30 homers and 82 runs scored.
