The national soccer team will play Wednesday its first friendly match this year against the United Arab Emirates.

Coach Dick Advocaat said Tuesday in Dubai that in this game, he will use new strategies for the World Cup in Germany and assess players who joined the team for overseas training.

With seven wins, five losses and a tie, South Korea at 29th in the world rankings is favored over No. 85 UAE.

Last year, Advocaat angered the UAE's soccer federation by quitting as coach to take the job with South Korea.
