The government is preparing to develop high-tech robots that fight crimes and maintain security from as early as the second half of this year.

The state-of-the-art robots can carry out various public missions, including maintaining public security, preventing crime and bolstering national defense.

The Ministry of Information and Communication will form a task force composed of government officials, scientists and robotics experts in cooperation with relevant agencies and conduct a feasibility study on the robot project.
