AFC Chief Upbeat Over Team's WC Outlook

The chief of the Asian Football Confederation says South Korea will not disappoint in the World Cup in Germany.

Peter Velappan said in an interview with fifaworldcup.com Thursday that the team can "clearly do something" led by a Europe-based player like Park Ji-sung.

In South Korea's Group G, he said the team will see little difficulty against Togo, has more experience than Switzerland and could surprise against France given the inconsistency of the French.

Velappan also downplayed worry over whether the team can repeat its 2002 success, citing South Korea's stars in Europe and a "never-say-die" spirit.
