Health Officials Warn of Bird Flu in Turkey

South Korea's Center for Disease Control and Prevention has cautioned travelers to take precautions against avian influenza in Turkey, which has been hit with a rash of bird flu-related deaths in recent days.

Following reports of the deaths, South Korean health authorities announced they would be testing travelers from Turkey for fever upon their arrival at South Korean airports.

Currently, the fever tests are limited to travelers from Southeast Asian nations, including Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Indonesia, and Thailand.

An official with the center stressed that tourists should take self-protection measures such as avoiding poultry farms in affected nations.
