Wie Pushing to Make Cut at Men's Tourney

Michelle Wie is looking to become only the second woman ever to make the final cut at a major men's golf tournament.

The 17-year-old Korean American says she expects to make the cut at the PGA Tour Sony Open in the Waialae Golf Course in Hawaii coming Friday.

Wie carded a 2-under par 68 in the second round of the 2004 tournament, the best finishing ever for a a female golfer at a men's PGA Tour event.

The teen golf sensation's 1-under par at the 2005 PGA John Deere Classic demonstrated her potential to make the cut at a men's professional tournament. The last time woman to play in the finals of a men's PGA event was American golfer Babe Zaharias in 1945.
