The investigative panel probing the research scandal of disgraced scientist Hwang Woo-suk took a day off Wednesday after ten straight days of work.

Chairwoman Roh Jung-hye said panel members need rest but will return to work Thursday.

The panel on Tuesday requested more blood samples for DNA fingerprint analysis from donors of somatic cells for Hwang's research, adding it could ask for more samples.
