Former deputy parliamentary speaker Shin Sang-woo is tapped as the next commissioner of the domestic baseball league.

The Korea Baseball Organization on Monday decided to nominate Shin as commissioner in its next board meeting on January 3rd.

Late last month, former Doosan Group chairman Park Yong-oh stepped down as commissioner after seven years apparently due to his impending indictment for generating a slush fund.
