Pro- N. Korea Scholar Indicted Sans Arrest

Prosecutors on Friday indicted without detention pro-North Korea professor Kang Jeong-koo for violating the anti-communist National Security Law.

A professor of sociology at Dongguk University in Seoul, Kang has said the Korean War was a conflict for reunification waged by the North.

Prosecutiors earlier this year grilled him on a controversial article he posted online and other columns published on the Web sites of pro-Pyongyang groups.

His planned arrest was overruled in October by Justice Minister Chun Jung-bae, a move which resulted in the resignation of Kim Jong-bin as prosecutor general in protest.
