The Commerce, Industry and Energy Ministry will seek to commercialize environmentally friendly cars by 2010 by acquiring proprietary technology for hybrid cars and test-running fuel cell cars.

The ministry on Tuesday announced a five-year plan to develop and propagate the cars after receiving approval from the state council.

Under the plan, production of hybrid cars will begin next year and reach 300,000 units by 2010, and a manufacturing structure for fuel cell cars will also come in five years.
