Roster for World Baseball Classic Released

The national team for the World Baseball Classic in March has released its final 29-man roster.

Team manager Kim In-shik on Tuesday announced the list that includes seven overseas-based players.

Among them are pitchers Park Chan-ho of the San Diego Padres, Kim Sun-woo and Kim Byung-hyun of the Colorado Rockies, Bong Jung-geun of the Cincinnati Reds and Koo Dae-sung of the New York Mets.

Choi Hee-Seop of the United States' Los Angeles Dodgers and Lee Seung-yeop of Japan's Chiba Lotte Marines will play first base.

Domestic leaguers on the roster include this year's Most Valuable Player, pitcher Son Min-han of the Lotte Giants, and top rookie Oh Seung-hwan of the league champions Samsung Lions.

The team on March 3rd will play its first game in the tournament against Taiwan in Tokyo.
