Seoul National University says it has selected 30 percent of the staff of an investigative committee on verifying the stem cell research of cloning pioneer Hwang Woo-suk.

The school's dean of research affairs Roe Jung-hye on Tuesday said the selection of non-university personnel who will comprise 20 percent of the committee will begin soon.

Since the university will make its selections based on independence and speciality, she said she expects a difficult decision on whether to include staff from the school's veterinary school on the committee.
