Australia Eyes Soccer Friendly with Nat'l Team

Australia and its soccer coach Guus Hiddink wants to play South Korea next year in a friendly match.

The Japanese sports daily Sponichi on Tuesday quoted Football Federation Australia chief John O'Neill as saying his nation plans test games versus England, the Netherlands and South Korea ahead of the World Cup in June.

The report said Hiddink is asking the Korea Football Association to hold the game.

The association, however, says it has not yet received his official request and its president Chung Mong-joon on Friday also downplayed the idea given South Korea's busy training schedule.
