Team to Play 8 Friendly Matches Before WC

The national soccer team next year will play eight friendly matches ahead of next year's World Cup in Germany.

Returning to Seoul Tuesday after attending the group draw in Germany, Coach Dick Advocaat said the team will face the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Denmark, Croatia, Honduras, the American pro team Los Angeles Galaxy, the United States and Mexico.

With permission from the domestic K-league, players could leave on January 15th for the team's overseas training camp of six weeks.

The first match is against the UAE on January 18th followed by those in Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong.

South Korea will play the Galaxy and the American national team last.
