An American university is reportedly planning to recruit South Korean scientists in line with its plan to build a new stem cell research laboratory.

According to a source familiar with U.S. academics Saturday, a university in the U.S. state of California is seeking to build a global stem cell bank that would focus its studies on embryonic stem cells and adult stem cells.

The source said the university is planning on scouting two or three key Korean stem cell scientists, one of whom reportedly worked with Professor Hwang Woo-suk.
