The German tabloid Bild predicts South Korea will advance to the semifinals of next year's World Cup soccer finals in repeating the miracle of 2002.
The Japanese daily Sankei Sports over the weekend quoted a piece written by the German daily's correspondent in Hamburg as saying the two countries will show Asia's growing ability against favorites Brazil, France, the Netherlands and Italy.
The correspondent said Japan will advance to the quarterfinals.
The Bild report did not explain the basis of its predictions, only adding the host country will not make the semifinals in a blast against Germany Coach Jurgen Klinsmann.
