The domestic baseball champions Samsung Lions on Friday beat a Chinese pro all-star team, 8-3, in their second game of the inaugural Asian Series in the Tokyo Dome.
Samsung pitcher Jun Byung-ho allowed five hits and only one run over five innings, and Kim Jong-hoon and Kim Jae-gul each drove in two runs.
Since Samsung lost to Japan's pro champions Chiba Lotte Marines, 6-2, in the opener, it must beat Taiwan's Sinon Bulls Saturday for a berth in the final Sunday.
Also dubbed the Konami Cup, the round-robin tournament features the pro champions of South Korea, Japan and Taiwan and an all-star team of Chinese pros.
The winning team will get the first prize of 50 million yen, or 424,500 dollars.
