Soccer Body Pres. to Retire in 2008

Korea Football Association President Chung Mong-joon (pictured second from right) will step down at the end of his term in 2008.

In a ceremony marking the association's incorporation in Seoul Tuesday, Chung said he will boost transparency in the KFA and do everything he can to further develop the nation's soccer.

He also said the association will choose a successor in 2008 worthy of the nation's respect.

Chung was named KFA president in 1993 and a vice president of soccer's world governing body FIFA a year later.
