Seol Ki-hyeon, dubbed the country's forgotten soccer player in Europe, arrived Tuesday in Seoul for the national team's friendly game against Sweden Saturday.
A forward for the second-tier English team Wolverhampton, Seol has not played for his country since March due to injury and scheduling.
The player said he will strive to quickly adapt to the style of national coach Dick Advocaat and play any position asked of him.
Though scoring his season's third goal Saturday in a 2-0 win over Norwich, Seol has taken a backseat to his more popular compatriots Park Ji-sung and Lee Young-pyo of the first-tier league Premiership.
Seol also faces tougher competition for a starting spot with the emergence of young dynamo Park Chu-young and rising star Chung Kyung-ho, who impressed in World Cup qualifiers earlier this year.
The Wolverhampton player is most remembered for his tying goal in the 2002 World Cup in South Korea's 2-1 overtime win over Italy.
