Lee SY's 3 RBIs Gives Chiba Japan Title

Slugger Lee Seung-yeop on Thursday drove in all three runs as the Chiba Lotte Marines won their first Japan Series title in 31 years.

Chiba beat the Hanshin Tigers, 3-2, for a four-game sweep of the series in Koshien Stadium in Osaka, Japan.

Lee's two-run homer in the second inning gave his team a 2-0 lead, then drove in another run with a double in the third.

For the series, the slugger hit three homers, drove in six runs and scored four runs in hitting .545.

Lee is the first Korean to play on championship baseball teams in South Korea and Japan.
