Samsung Sweeps Doosan for Series Title

The Samsung Lions swept the Korean Series Wednesday, 4-0, with a 10-1 win over the Doosan Bears for their second title in three years.

Lion Park Han-yi had a homer and four runs batted in and American pitcher Tim Harikkala allowed no runs over five innings for his second win of the series.

Rookie relief pitcher Oh Seung-hwan was named the series' Most Valuable Player for his two saves.

Samsung is only the third team in Korean Series' history to sweep the championship and the first to win the regular season and playoff titles.

Park gave Samsung a 3-0 lead in the third inning with a solo homer. He sealed the win in the eighth with his bases-loaded double that brought in three runs and widened the gap to 8-1.
