North Korean female boxer Ryu Myong-ok on Friday will defend her world super flyweight title against Alicia Ashley of the United States in Pyongyang.

The Korea Boxing Council in Seoul on Tuesday said the fight is Ryu's first defense of her World Boxing Council for Females title.

Ryu in June won the title in Pyongyang with a second-round knockout of Elizabeth Sanchez of Mexico.

Another North Korean woman champion, bantamweight Kim Kwang-ok, will also make her first title defense against a Mexican, Rivaz Yazmin.
