LPGA Disqualifies Wie in Pro Debut

Michelle Wie on Sunday was disqualified in her pro debut for signing an incorrect scorecard.

The 16-year-old on Sunday finished fourth at eight under in the Samsung World Championship, but was disqualified after LPGA Tour staff reviewed footage of her Saturday on the seventh hole.

Wie should have added two strokes to her third round score of 71 since she dropped a ball closer to the hole by what she said was three inches but what tour staff said about a foot.

She lost her prize money and her final score was nullified.

Gloria Park finished third at nine under and Meena Lee fifth at seven under.

Annika Sorenstam won her second straight Samsung title with at 18 under.
