The 86th National Sports Festival will open in the southeastern port city of Ulsan Friday for a seven-day run.

Some 30-thousand athletes from here and abroad will compete in 41 sports.

Among the more high-profile athletes this year is autistic swimmer Kim Jin-ho. The young South Korean broke the world disabled record with a time of two minutes and 24.08 seconds in the 200-meter backstroke at last month’s INAS-FID Swimming World Championships for the mentally disabled in the Czech Republic.
