Tottenham Hotspur Coach Martin Jol says Lee Young-pyo is one of the world's finest defenders.

Jol told footballasia.com Wednesday that his high rating of the left wingback is why the English team sought him.

The coach said Lee has settled into the team well and is already a crucial member.

Jol also wished Lee luck in winning this year's Asian Football Confederation's Player of Year award.

Because of an injured thigh, Lee did not play Wednesday in South Korea's 2-0 friendly win at home over Iran.
