Busan I'Park Coach Ian Porterfield says the country's heavy emphasis on the national soccer team is the wrong philosophy for developing domestic talent.

In an interview with Footballasia.com Monday before leaving for Saudi Arabia Monday, he said South Korea has "fantastic" potential but noted the lack of structure and interest in the K-League.

His team on Wednesday will try to rally from a 5-0 deficit to defending Asian Champions League champion Al Ittihad in the second leg of the semifinals.

The ex-Chelsea coach said South Korea has no production line and that promising youngsters have nowhere to go.
