A former Manchester United player says Park Ji-sung will emerge as a gem if he continues to do as well as he did last weekend.

Mickey Thomas on Thursday said Saturday's 3-2 win over Fulham was the first game in which Park made a real impact, lauding the player's touch and movement.

Park assisted on all three of the team's goals, with teammate Wayne Rooney saying the midfielder ran so fast at defenders, they had no idea what to do because of his quick feet.

Thomas predicted United Coach Alex Ferguson will no longer hesitate to start Park ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs, though Ronaldo will probably start.
