The country's biggest telecom provider has begun a trial run of a comprehensive multimedia service that combines communication, broadcasting and the Internet.

KT Corporation on Thursday said it will provide 600 test subscribers with broadband convergence network service through trial networks in Seoul and three other areas nationwide.

The company will expand the number of subscribers to more than 2,500 by year's end.

KT by 2010 will also gradually integrate its fixed-line and broadband Web services into its BcN service, transforming its infrastructure into a quality Internet protocol network.
